    Christ First Sports invites you to participate in their 2nd Annual Golf Tournament Mon, Sept.27 at 9:30am. The event will include a silent auction with items signed by professional athletes and a banquet dinner hosted by radio personality Shawn Parr. It will be a day of clean, fun competition! The entry fee is $110 and includes a golf cart, participation in Long Drive contests, range balls, a boxed lunch, and banquet dinner. All of the proceeds will benefit Christ First Sports in attaining their goals to reach others for Christ and to challenge kids athletically and in their walk with God. The tournament will be at Los Robles Golf Course, 299 S. Moorpark Rd in Thousand Oaks (91361). Register by Sept.20.   • DisAbility Sports Festival (at CSUSB) (9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) details»

    San Bernardino

    You are invited to participate in the DisAbility Sports Festival Sat, Oct.2, 9am-3:30pm. The event will be at CSUSB, 5500 University Pkwy in San Bernardino (92407). About 1 million people in the IE have disabilities, but only approx 10% participate in sports. The purpose is to introduce sports/physical activity and the adaptation of sports for disabled within local and school communities. This is a FREE one day annual extravaganza for people of all ages and disabilities. You’ll participate with coaches of elite level or other internationally competing disabled athletes. Events include basketball (wheelchair and stand-up), tennis (wheelchair and stand-up), wall climbing, swimming, kayaking, martial arts, track & field, motor skills activities, ATV & obstacle course, quad rugby, goalball (blind sport for all to try), beep baseball, golf, soccer, wheelchair lacrosse, dance, and cycling/hand cycling (tandem, single, and hand bikes for all abilities available). Breakfast and lunch provided for participants only. Keynote speaker during Opening Ceremonies is Angela Madsen who became paraplegic during a surgery while serving as a US Marine. Since then, she has rowed the Indian & Atlantic Oceans and around the UK (rowoflife.com). Early registration is strongly encouraged to ensure there will be enough t-shirts and food for all participants. T-shirts will only be guaranteed to those who pre-register.     Corona Life Services invites you to Walk For Life Sat, Oct.2 (register at 8:30am, walk at 10am). The purpose of the Walk is to raise awareness and funds for CLS Pregnancy Center. The day is fun-filled, bringing together individuals and families from Corona and other local communities to enjoy great music, amazing food, and even a little exercise! But, of course, most importantly, participants & sponsors raise funds to support the ministry and work of Corona Life Services in their quest to provide alternatives for pregnant women in crisis.     Operation Community Cares invites you to their fundraiser golf tournament Mon, Oct.4, 10am-7pm. Proceeds will help our deployed men and women who keep us safe and free. Monies raised will be used to ship packages to the troops (the July shipment cost over $6,000 and Christmas shipping is expected to exceed $10,000) and to help their families at home.   • David Brezina Challenge - Bycycling Ride to benefit CAF (10:00 a.m.) details»

    The Orange County Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators (OC-ALA) invites you to participate in the David Brezina Challenge Sun Oct.10 at 10am. The cycling charity ride is in honor of the late David Brezina of Colorado who served as the 1996-1997 National President of the ALA. Brezina was involved in a tragic bicycling accident in 1996 resulting in quadriplegia. He continued to serve the 10,000-person association though he was facing significant health-related challenges. His dedication to the Association served as an inspiration to the membership. Participants in the David Brezina Challenge may choose from a 5-mile Fun Ride, a 10-mile route, or a 30-mile route circling the Back Bay of Newport Beach. The cost to participate is $10 for children 12 and under and $15 for adults. The event is part of OC-ALA’s Community Challenge Weekend (CCW), a community service initiative that encourages community improvement. It will be at Col. Bill Barber Marine Corp Memorial Park, 4 Civic Center Plaza in Irvine (92606). All proceeds from the event will go to the Challenged Athletes Foundation.
