    Developmentally disabled children are invited to attend a cooking workshop and fundraiser in observance of World Autism Awareness Day, Fri, April 2 at 5pm. The event will include a cooking workshop, touch and smell stations designed for kids with sensory issues, a video game truck, and guest speakers for the parents, including Phillip Hain, the Autism Speaks LA Chapter Executive Director. Some special needs kids have allergic dietary restrictions and the workshop exposes participants to new foods in a fun setting. All proceeds from the event go to the nonprofit Autism Speaks.     West End Animal Shelter invites you to their Walk ‘n’ Wag-a-thon Sat, May 8, 9am-1pm. This event is to raise money for Save-A-Pet Rescue Fund and a future shelter/hospital. The shelter, established in 1954, is a non-profit, no kill center for pet placement and adoption center where approximately 200 homeless dogs and cats currently await placement. On average, the shelter is able to place over 800 animals annually. The Save-A-Pet Rescue Fund allows West End Animal Shelter to rescue adoptable dogs and cats from kill shelters and take them to a safe-haven until they have been adopted. The event is being held at Prado Regional Park, 16700 S. Euclid Ave in Chino (91710). ABC7 weather personality Garth Kemp will be the Grand Marshall.
