On the night of June 7th, in Rancho Cucamonga’s Central Park, there will be a candlelight gathering for the more than 200 Nigerian schoolgirls who were kidnapped. Over a month ago 276 girls ages 15-18 were kidnapped from their school by a terrorist group called Boko Haram. Since this attack most of these girls have not been rescued. They are most likely being trafficked and sold into marriage to their captors. The churches and non-profit organizations in the Inland Empire would like to raise awareness about this dire situation because this is more than just a country’s issue, or a culture’s issue. This is an issue about education and girls’ rights everywhere.
We want to send the message that we don’t need to have a certain position to make a difference. We can do something right now with what we have. By prayer. By speech. By writing. By media. Please help us raise awareness. We hope you can join us and support this cause.
